Lou Kaplan was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1957 and has been playing piano since age 5. His parents managed a record store which encouraged Lou's interested in writing music. Lou took piano lessons from many instructors, and by the time he graduated from high school, he enjoyed playing the pop and progressive rock of that era: Elton John, Yes and ELP were frequently heard from his piano. Keeping an open mind towards all styles, Lou listened to everything from experimental to jazz, classical to heavy metal, soundtracks to new age, and rock to rap. In 1982 Lou set up a home studio in his apartment and began recording some of his original music. Through the years he has constantly upgraded his studio and eventually founded Milltown Music Co. as the vehicle for his music productions. |
