Cynonymoux (keyboard/guitar) and DJ Gizmo (turntables) met each other in Waukegan, Illinois, a suburban town just 30 miles north of Chicago. Prior to their meeting, the two had worked with a number of local artist and bands, but found their creative interest to be in conflict with their peers. Nevertheless, in the spring of 1998 Enterview was formed when Cynonymoux approached DJ Gizmo about the idea of becoming a two-man band.
Their sound is very ambient and experimental. It's a mixture of electronic, hip-hop, rock and acid that seems to just transport the listener beyond the abyss of imagination into a world that Enterview simply calls life. Cynonymoux explains, "It's like waking up in one's mind either a few minutes after getting out of bed in the morning or many years later in life. I think of it as an event whether it be personal or shared with someone that changes a person's attitude and grants that individual a different point of view about his or her life."
Although the debut album Memories of a Restless Soul and the Remains of a Shattered Dream only features a few creative contributions from DJ Gizmo, Cynonymoux states that the two met as he was finishing up on what could possibly have been considered a solo album. He also goes on to say that the new album is in production and is scheduled for release sometime this year, and it features more programming from his band mate and their newly formed production entity, 7th Day Productions. |
